17 States in 22 Days.

I'm having mixed feelings. Looking forward to getting back to the nest, but a little sad to see this beautiful journey coming to a close.

Yesterday we arrived in Casa Grande, Arizona to spend a long, relaxing weekend with friends Tommy and June at an RV resort before we head home. June, the Martha Stewart of the RV set, served us dinner coach-side, complete with appetizers, wine, salad, chicken pot pie and pumpkin pie for dessert. She and Tommy have been RVing for 20 years and they have the lifestyle DOWN.

For the next few days we plan to play a little golf, hang out at the pool and enjoy the resort ameneties, which are quite luxe compared to the KOA camps that have been our home for the last three weeks. The Palm Creek Golf & RV Resort is very quiet...the Snowbirds haven't yet begun to arrive, but its easy to imagine how active this scene becomes in the winter. The front nine of the golf course is being "scalped" and overseeded, an interesting process that apparently most desert courses go through.

My back is still a little stiff from my "Lucy Moment", but I am looking forward to hacking it up on the back nine, taking a swim, and having a pedicure before we head home.

Welcome to Arizona!

Yes, it's time to mow down our grass in AZ and overseed. All homes with grass go through this process too. It's not a lot of fun.

Have fun on your last leg home!

I've been hoping you'd go through Chaco Culture territory. Please point that camera towards the ruins if you can, and when you look at the ground and shout "FORE!", watch for pottery fragments…
